WEDDING OF HELEN & CHRIS
Preparations for the wedding (How did you choose the theme of your wedding, How did you experience the preparations, Wedding planner or other solution, your favorites for some providers, the wedding fair that inspired you most, etc. ...).
Chris and I fell in love when I first moved to Paris almost 7 years ago. He was supposed to stay for two weeks between medical school rotations in California, but ended up staying longer (don't worry, he didn't drop of out medical school). We lived together there over the course of the next year and have so many fond memories traveling across France's many beautiful regions. We decided to bring our family and friends back to the place where it all began for us and share the magic. We researched vineyards and chateaus that could accommodate an outdoor ceremony and reception. Chateau de Robernier, tucked away in a quaint part of Provence, became the place!
The wedding dress (tell us why it was your favorite)
After trying on about 10 dresses, they all began to blend together for me -- I've never had a keen eye for fashion. I chose my dress because of the memory I hold to finding it. I was with my mother and father in my hometown of DC. After trying on a few dresses that all seemed fine, I tried on this dress and my mother began to tear up. From the moment I saw the look on her face, I knew that was the dress.
The photographer choice
Our photographer came recommended from another couple who were married at Chateau de Robernier. They had such a blast planning their own wedding, that they founded Rose Gold Wedding Planning afterwards. I trusted this meant they loved their photographer, and I'm glad that I did! Mael and his assistant Clemence were a delight. Chris and I had a blast with them during our couple photoshoot. They even surprised us with champagne and macaroons mid-shoot! Their friendly energy put us at ease and I know that our families felt the same.
Your tips of young bride and groom
Have fun while you plan and try not to stress! Even better - have a glass of wine in hand any time you intend to talk wedding plans with your partner -- planning should also be a fun memory and part of the journey!
